Vaathi Movie Review

Vaathi is an action drama movie written and directed by Venky Atluri and produced by Naga Vamsi S and Sai Soundarya under the banners of Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas. Dhanush unpopularly known as Indian Bruce Lee for pudhukottai yilirundhu Saravanan has always got his natural acting into play in any character he plays, he lives every character he is thrown with and it is same with Vaathi too. Samuthirakani, and Samuyktha Menon have also played the lead roles. And the music is composed by GV Prakash and the cinematography was done by J Yuvaraj.

Movie one line review :

An average feel good movie from a tollywood director in his debut at kollywood, it is a one time watchable film. The social message delivered is common but yet stands out as something that should be paid more attention in the modern world.

Movie plot :

Dhanush as Bala Murugan who is a third grade assistant teacher in a private school is sent to government school on a mission, which was majorly an business politics, this business politics in educational sector mimics the story of many other films like Super30 which was a movie based on true story but the presence of dhanush made it look different and fresh. Samuthrakani is the main villain who sends dhanush to government school in this film and has given a good essence of a villain. In this particular government school dhanush meets the heroin samyuktha menon and understands the situation of the village by the help of her and he decides to transform and motivate the whole village students to take education as a priority and earn the respect they can by getting the education they should.

Samuthrakani gives as many troubles as he can but dhanush symbolizes many notable characters like Ravanan and Bharathiar and escapes from all the troubles and delivers the education to the students with all that he could and makes the class of 46 students to get transformed as doctors and engineers and continues to educate the underprivileged in different regions of the state for the rest of his life. And the students also payback to the society by teaching to the underprivileged students of their village in a rotational basis.

One good take away :

Ken Karunas has scored in all the scenes in which he has appeared on the screen, he is sharing the screen with dhanush for the second time after Asuran and his acting is purely phenomenal and his future looks very promising. The other good takeaway from this particular film is the dialogues which was written by assistant director Venkatesh with the inputs of dhanush himself which made them work so good on the screen.

Movie Budget :

50 Cr apprx. (it is a hit and has already grossed 50.15 Cr at end of 3rd day)

Cons :

Even though the film as a whole was worth watching but still the screenplay could have been better. The film was also predictable and monotonous, couple of twist and turns could have made it more watchable.

Our rating : 7.8/10

Rayappan character was the only major pillar of the film. The film's background score was done by maestro A. R. Rahman. The song "Singapenne" was received with an unbelievable response by fans all over the world. It might have voiced out for the raise of football in India, but the film failed to satisfy cinema lovers. The whole film speaks about the equality and freedom that women deserve, but the same film had only a ten minute screen presence for the lady super star, Nayanthara.
